I can greatly recommend listening to podcasting. There's junk out there, naturally, but a few really amazingly useful sites do exist, like IT Conversations. You can get their audio streams directly from the site, or do as I do, get them automatically using iPodderX (Mac) or iPodder (any platform) into iTunes and then onto an iPod. Or you can simply listen to streams on your desktop.

Anyway, the following streams are really worthwhile listening to:

Paul Graham: Great Hackers
Kent Beck: Developer Testing
Joel Spolsky: Joel on Software
David Pogue: Toward Mac OS XX
Steward Copeland: The Think Different Drummer

Maybe I'll make a list of them later, but the IT Conversations site also has rankings by users, so it may be redundant. The IT Conversations site alone is worth the price of an iPod. The quality of speakers is incredible. It's like having a conference tape service for free.
